I’ve always thought hosanna was a cry of thanksgiving or praise. But then I learned that it is translated to mean – “Lord save us!” And how appropriate that our cry of adoration is bound up in the gospel truth that we need a Saviour – as surely as my feet plant on the ground. He is the author of salvation and in our need we find the same pulsing spring of gratitude and joy.
