tuesday favourites

  1. Always a delight to have some tunes stuck in your head for two weeks at a time… This musical has some of the best lines and beats in the genre, and any inevitable ear-worms are worth it.
  2. This gluten-free brownie recipe is becoming my go-to solution for a quick dessert. They are particularly delicious eaten straight out of the freezer (don’t ask me how I know.)
  3. New towels. A small upgrade that was worth every cent I spent of my birthday money.
  4. The ease of wireless earbuds while walking, cleaning, or trying not to disturb Wesley while he does online school.
  5. A cute local flower truck, where I could make my own birthday bouquet.

A Week in Pictures

1. Fall gardening is strange enough, but trying to squirrel proof the raised beds took things to a whole other level.

2. In the midst of 90 degree weather, this shelf has become my shrine to Fall in cooler climes.

3. If I could pick one favourite plant it would be my fiddle leaf fig. And this leaf is quite possibly my favourite little part of it.

4. Wesley has been blessed with job after job this summer. Many nights we eat late suppers together and I’m thankful for both the crazy and coziness of this season.

5. Flat fields and low, stormy clouds are some of my favourite things about this town. It sometimes truly feels like I could touch the sky!

Tuesday Favourites

  1. Ok,ok. Blueberry cake donuts from Krispy Kreme.
  2. Wisteria, which has been blooming alongside azalea bushes and pear trees in a perfect pollen storm the last few weeks.
  3. Note cards and snail mail.
  4. This muesli, which is a million times better than granola.
  5. I’m still happily on my house plant kick these days. Since I’ve kept everything alive so far, next on the list is a rubber plant.
  6. Goodreads. It’s the perfect app to track finished books, rate them, and keep a list of titles I want to read in the future.
  7. The amazing, all purpose and wonderful smelling Dr. Bronner’s.
  8. A little walk in the late afternoon, just enough to sleep well.

Tuesday Favourites

  1. I’m becoming probably too attached to iced mochas with whipped cream these days. But it makes me thankful for the weather which is starting to warm alarmingy and gives me a valid excuse. (Wesley tells me it’s not hot yet.)
  2. House plants are starting to be another indulgence, because (assuming you can keep it alive) $5 will buy you something that may last you forever.
  3. This book was a colourful, entertaining and ‘are you serious?!’ read that had me retelling stories to Wesley every couple minutes. I felt a companionship with the author as we agreed in the magic and weirdness of the South.
  4. I love when I upload camera pictures periodically and find shots from Wesley’s last jaunt around the yard. Exhibit A:

5. Curry is probably the most rewarding and simple thing to make at home. Now if only Naan bread was equally doable. Anyone have some tips?

6. If you are traveling the 84 between Dothan and Enterprise, Alabama, please do yourself a favour and shoot out to Working Cow Dairy. Put some cash in the can and get the creamiest chocolate milk you will ever taste out of the big refrigerator.
